Hey, I'm Ed.

Verify my credentials
The CISSP is issued by ISC2. You can confirm mine through Credly or the ISC2 member verification page.
I'm a dad, a hacker, and a Port St. Lucie local. I hold the CISSP and CompTIA Security+, and I have spent more than a decade on regulated healthcare data, cloud controls, audit evidence, and vendor risk, at a scale where getting it wrong makes the news.
Wirsing Security exists because the same rules that apply to a billion-dollar healthcare company apply to the dental office on Port St. Lucie Boulevard and the machine shop off Glades Cut-Off Road, and neither one can hire someone like me full time. HIPAA does not scale down. The FTC Safeguards Rule does not care that you are three people. A prime contractor's flow-down letter reads the same whether you have 6 employees or 600.
So I built a firm that does exactly one thing: bring a real, credentialed security lead down to the size of a small regulated business, at a price that business can actually pay, with no account manager between you and me.
Before this I spent years on the offensive side, breaking into systems for a living, then in cloud security, then building security programs from nothing. I have seen what attackers actually do, what auditors actually ask for, and what small businesses actually skip. That gap is the job.
What I am not
Saying this plainly saves everyone a wasted call.
Not an IT company
No helpdesk, no licensing, no printers. I work with your existing provider and give them a prioritized list.
Not a C3PAO
I prepare defense suppliers for CMMC assessment. I do not perform or certify the assessment, and I will say so on every proposal.
Not a law firm
I will tell you what a rule requires and build the program that meets it. Legal interpretation of your specific exposure belongs with your attorney.
Not a reseller
I do not take commissions on tools. When I recommend a product, it is because it is the right one for your size and budget.
Why local matters
I will come to your office. I know which primes are sending flow-down letters to Treasure Coast suppliers, which insurers are tightening renewals for local practices, and which IT providers in town are good to work with. Remote engagements work anywhere in the country, but the reason to hire a local firm is that I will show up.
The part that is not a business
If you are a grandma on the Treasure Coast with a computer problem, I fix it for free, house call included. It is in honor of my grandma Agnes, and it is on the Community page.
Elsewhere
I also publish hands-on security tutorials, tool reviews, and videos. That side of the site lives under Resources and on YouTube.
